Congrats on your gorgeous wedding Tony and Karen. It was a stunning day of dramatic imagery and intimate details. Thanks for having me along for the adventure!

Luv this one of Tony's brother (a dead ringer of Frank Zappa) capturing a little slice of the day on his Iphone.

So a "creative" is a collaboration with one or more other artists, in this case a friend of mine Melanie, for fun and experience. Melanie's an amazing hair and makeup artist, and owner of Mink Makeup http://www.minkmakeupart.com ). We've worked together many times now at actual weddings, but this was new for me and was a blast! A creative certainly doesn't have the timeline pressure of a real wedding but with all the dress changes and touchups we didn't end up with a lot of time in the end. But the afternoon flew by almost as quick. Here's a couple favs.

Over the years Sarah's path and mine came very close to connecting. We both worked as photographers for the same company in Ottawa, even overlapping for a time though never meeting. As well we both worked for the member services desk at Mountain Equipment Co-op at different times. So when she contacted me in Vancouver to cover her wedding day, part of the fun was finding out about all these random friend intersections!
Their wedding was a beautifully intimate one at Restaurant Eighteen in the market of dowtown Ottawa. And by odds there guest count was eighteen people, a perfect fit. Here's some of my fav's from their day.

I was soo happy this little nook of mirrors was in the restaurant. It was -20 that day and outside was not an option!

And here's the suave collected Andrew.
