I've recently returned from L.A. where I had a portrait session with Dustin Brown who's the captain of the L.A. Kings. The shoot was for Combat Sports Group and this was probably my 7th or 8th shoot for them. They set me up comfortably at the Westin hotel and the shoot was first thing in the morning and literally an intense hour and a half long. Thought I'd show a few from their 2010 hockey catalogue that I shot for them in Toronto late last fall. Pretty cool stuff!

I met Sacha and Sukhia at the Vancouver Wedding Fair in January and by the time they booked me I realized they were becoming special to me. And their wedding day just enhanced this. They were present for every moment of their day and celebrated everyone else being there as much as everyone celebrated them. The ceremony was on a shorefront family home on a gorgeous Bowen Island day with the right amount of breeze to sunshine.
You guys were a joy to photograph and your day was magical. Thanks for having me along for the adventure! I hope you enjoy this little grouping of favs.
And a big thanks to my friend Kari Heese from Fractured Light for helping out as a second shooter!

What a locale.

The 20 minute ferry ride back to Van we packed with portrait time.

The unreal view from the Seasons Restaurant at Queen Elizabeth Park.

Had the first of 3 titanium screws removed from my ankle today! This was the one that held together the tibia and fibula, and having it removed is necessary to get back my full range of motion. The doctor literally pulled out a sterile screwdriver (probably from IKEA) and manually "unscrewed" it.
It's amazingly been 3 and a half months since my motorcycle accident and it's incredible how one's body can heal.
These might be a bit much for some, and for that I apologize,.. there's just something so intriguing about a mechanical "fusion" with my own body that wouldn't let me take one photo only! Maybe it's the Terminator factor or that I ride a titanium bicycle, but I had ideas galore for shots.

A little size context. Everyone has a smurf right?
