      • The Kitchen Drawer

Everybody's got one of these! All that extra small stuff that collects around the house that has a practical purpose. But you've either forgotten what that purpose is, or your waiting for that increasingly rare moment when it'll show up and you can say "Ah, I have just the tool for this"! Randomness is the name of the game here, and of course clutter in one corner of the kitchen is the result. Photography can be much like this. Lots of great little moments captured that don't quite stand alone nor fit into a series, but end up filling a laptop hard drive hoping their day will come. So here's my solution; share them as one mass of imagery! And a forewarning, my kitchen drawer is huge and constantly being filled, so there will be sequels...

This little guy has been my desktop photo for probably 6 months now. He's just so comfortable and perfectly fit. He was hanging out on my dining room table this winter and gave me a perfect "high-5" pose.

Can anyone guess what this is from? I'll pop the answer at the bottom of this post!

I could have done a series on this man alone. He's a local farmer, one time professor, who's so unique and accentuated of character that he opted to go organic way before the trend. Respect.

From the world cup series in the new Callaghan valley site for the 09 Olympics. Amazing to watch these guys take flight! The swooshing hum as they'd pass and rush of wind is excilerating and makes you speed on the highway home.

Deceptive but this was almost 6 feet tall. From Killarney Provincial Park along the eastern bays of Lake Huron. And the water really was that colour!

Foggy night off Chinatown in downtown Vancouver. No related story, just a cool night pic.

Ice fishing in Saskatchewan. Must have's; down jacket, broken watch, beer.

Japanese Maples. A little harmony to end off all the randomness.

Oh, and it's a telemark ski binding!
